about

Originally released as a series of tapes - Blue Two (1-3), Green Three (4-8), Yellow Four (9-13) - almost immediately after the cd Red One (Pogus 21068-2).

This was released 01/01/2014 by inyrdisk as a 3CD-R set to celebrate the first 30 years of If, Bwana. These works gracefully span 3 and 1/4 hours of riveting musique concrete and refined experimentation. Thirty captures If, Bwana championing familiar territory with haunting long-form drone compositions such as "Organ Life(less)", "Massed Roses" and "Forks, Waves, Bees" and forging ahead with new sonic focus into the infinite worlds found within bassoons and voices. Contemporary work at its deepest and a must for any If, Bwana fan, this first edition gatefold package features sturdily pasted-on art over disk envelopes and an insert, while future editions may be alternatively designed.

First Edition: 99 3xCD-Rs / Triple gatefold prints affixed to disk envelopes & insert

If, Bwana makes music that has swung between fairly spontaneous studio constructions and more process-oriented composition. ... more
